070811 - Trent-Severn Waterway

I had a family reunion that Saturday afternoon. Then I headed to the Viamede Marina to party on my buddies boats. The boats were super extra dope. Myself and Mike Magreehan jammed until the early late morn. I got to freestyle over acoustic guitars for at least an hour. Super fun. It wasn't a 'show', but I played on a patio overlooking a kick -assed lake in front of about 40 people who were quite attentive.

Thanks to Paul 'Zapp' Zapatol and Chris Annette for having kick ass boats I could pass out in.

070810 - Toronto, On Live Recording

I arrived at Jungle Funk Productions Studio's at 3:30. We worked out all the kinks for a live-studio-audience-recording. At 7:30, my best friends arrived and we polished off a big bottle of tequila. Then I started to record my Jimi Maze record. The party went way later than planned.

It was one of the coolest parties ever, though I might be biased.

070809 - Toronto, On Squiggfest

I hosted squiggfest and got to perform a couple of songs. The night was a collective of dancer's, visual artists and musicians. Very cool.

070801 - New Brunswick to Montreal, PQ

I'm in a parking lot in Ottawa, posting this blog. I'm back in my home province.

Um, woo hoo?

070729 - Campbellville, NB

I had to finally escape Charlottetown. PEI was just too perfect.

I spent the night in a parking lot in Campbelltown, New Brunswick, where I was able to MacGyver-styles fix my camera and steal wifi internet.

070728 - Prince Edward Island p3

Again, I spent the day at the Tracadie Beech. It was super hot, and humid in the city. The ice-cold northern current of the Atlantic Ocean was perfect relief.

On my way to Fredericton, I headed back into Charlottetown to take care of a few loose ends. That’s when I ran into my buddy Andrew Devillers from Toronto.

He’s in the band The Exchanges. Canary Mine and Exchanges have played a handful of gigs together back in Toronto.

He was playing Brennan’s that night. After the show, we went to a house party overlooking the Charlottetown Harbour. The moon, and it’s reflection were placed perpendicular to the back deck, making it quite scenic. We hung out with Charlottetown locals until sunrise.

Andrew passed out in the front seat of my van, so we had breakfast at Hunter’s Ale House the next morning. There was a camera that night that I am trying to get photo’s from.

Here's a link to the video Andrew made a week earlier in Quebec.

070727 - Charlottetown p2

The owner of Brennan’s Pub said that I should try to play again on Friday night. So, I spent the day at the beech in the blistering heat, sheltered within my open van, writing tunes, napping, girl watching, swimming.

That night, I asked the band Sleep To Dream if I could open for them. They were from Halifax and had the tightest purest rock tone that I’ve ever heard. It was like Soundgarden meets ZZ Top on Stan Rogers boat. Exceptional.

During my brief sound check, a waitress knocked my camera off the bar, breaking it. I put on a good set, but all the while I was thinking “OMG, my camera’s eft.”

Into the morning, Sleep to Dream and Jimi Maze hung out, relatively sober until the sun rose. I wish I had some pics!

070725 - Antigonish, NS Videoblog

The lowest point of my tour.
